True fabric integrity
When we say Italian wool, we mean it. You get exactly what you pay for — no polyester blends sold as “pure wool”, and no glued suits sold as “hand-stitched”.
The House of VJs · Est. 1981
Four decades of hand-cut tailoring in Bangkok — and a master tailor who still measures every client himself.
VJ’s Bespoke (formerly Moonriver by VJ) has dressed diplomats, CEOs and travellers from all over the world since 1981. The workshop is still ours, the cutters are still ours, and the standard has not moved.
Our story
In a city known for its tailoring, longevity is the only true proof of quality. VJ’s Bespoke was established in 1981 with a singular mission: to serve Bangkok’s discerning expat community and international travellers who demanded British-grade construction without the Savile Row price tag.
For over four decades, we have survived trends, economic shifts and the rise of fast fashion by sticking to one rule: quality first. We aren’t a tourist trap or a 24-hour factory. We are a family-run institution on Sukhumvit Road that has dressed generations of diplomats, CEOs and professionals.
Today, our legacy extends beyond Thailand, with our master tailors travelling globally to bring our Bangkok workshop’s precision to clients in the USA, Europe and Asia.

The founder
Tailoring is not just about measurements; it is about understanding the person wearing the suit. Vijay (VJ) has spent his life mastering the art of the perfect fit. Unlike salesmen who just want to close a deal, VJ is a craftsman who builds relationships.
Known for his “straight talk” approach, VJ believes in educating clients rather than upselling them. Whether he is consulting at our Bangkok showroom or measuring a client in a hotel suite in New York, his philosophy remains the same: a suit must be comfortable, durable and impeccably fitted.
His hands-on involvement — from fabric selection to the final fitting — ensures that every garment carrying the VJ’s label meets the standards he set over 40 years ago.

When we say Italian wool, we mean it. You get exactly what you pay for — no polyester blends sold as “pure wool”, and no glued suits sold as “hand-stitched”.
02
We don’t farm your suit out to mass-production sweatshops. We own our workshop and employ our own cutters, giving us complete control over every stitch, buttonhole and lining.
03
A cheap suit is expensive if you never wear it because it fits poorly. Our price reflects the experience, labour and honest materials required to make a garment that lasts years, not months.
“If you find a better fabric with better quality elsewhere, buy it. But if you want the truth about what you’re wearing, come to VJ’s.”
