The cloth library · Bangkok

Cloth first.

The cloth decides how a garment moves, how it wears and how it feels in the heat. We carry wools, linen, silk, cotton and bamboo, from everyday blends to superfine Platinum bunches.

Four ranges, one standard of construction. The range reflects the fibre and the mill, not the amount of handwork.

Choosing cloth

Choose with your hands, not a screen.

Colour and weight read differently in daylight. On a roadshow or in the showroom you can pull a bunch, drape it and see how it behaves.

If you are ordering remotely, we can shortlist cloths from your brief and send photographs before you decide.

We keep the ranges separate for a reason: the fibre and the mill change the drape, the breathability and the way the garment ages.

The ranges

Four ranges, one standard.

Every range is cut, canvassed and finished the same way. The difference is the cloth itself.

Cloth and finishing

What the details look like.

Linings, hand-bound buttonholes and monograms, all chosen from the house collection.

Choosing cloth

What to weigh up.

A few questions narrow the library quickly.

  1. 01

    Climate

Hot and humid asks for linen, cotton, bamboo or an open-weave wool. Cooler rooms suit finer worsteds.

  2. 02

    Occasion

Business, wedding, travel or black tie each point to a different weight and finish.

  3. 03

    Drape

Softer cloths fall closer to the body; drier cloths hold a sharper line.

  4. 04

    Care

If you travel light, choose a cloth that recovers overnight. If you dry-clean rarely, choose a forgiving weave.
